Attempting the stupid...

Yesterday being the 24th December, we decided to go out. Yes, me shasha and darwis (later joined by Kak D, Abg D and Nasir). We needed to get a headstart on the preparations for the Singapore Seminar. So we decided on Liat Towers Starbucks. Yes very stupid of us. Why did we even think of Orchard Rd on Christmas Eve?

So after wrapping up our work, we had dinner at Far East and were joined by Shasha's frens.

And the journey to the MRT station was complete and utter mayhem. Sprayed by a deluge of fake snow (snow in a can). We kept getting smothered by all the stupid asses who apparently wanted it to snow really badly in singapore. Go for a winter holiday then idiots! Don't mess up Orchard Road.

This wasnt my first brush with annoying holiday merrymakers. This was exactly wat happened in Bukit Bintang a year ago. I was sprayed incessantly by all those party streamers in a can.

I should have learnt from my mistake last year.

No more going out on the eve of Christmas and on the day of Christmas it self.Period

I'm probably going to be VERY EXTREMELY BUSY this whole semester. More involvement with MUIS. So u know what that means.

Don't miss me aight.

Snap, snap, snap...

That's how my Sunday went.

Snap went the camera and snap went my sandal. Yes. My Charles & Keith sandal i bought just a few months ago. What a bloody waste.

___________________________________________________________

Kho and I wanted to go out and shoot some pics using our SLR's. *maklumlah kawan kiter tu tgh amek photojournalism so dier nak practice*

So we left quite early in the morning. Around 11am on a SUNDAY morning mind you.

We reached Bugis and i just had the urge to spend. So we went to Dorothy Perkins and i bought 2 lovely tops. No black this time round thank god. I'm sick of mourning oredi.

After that we jalan-jalan around Bugis Village but there wasn't much to see cos many shops were still closed. But we did get to see a humongous cat that looked a lot like a dog to me.

Then we walked all the way to Suntec.

We were already ravenous by that time so we headed to Burger King and had lunch. Super duper hungry.

We cleaned up that tray really fast.

Then walked some more to Esplanade.

Took pictures at the garden at the top of the esplanade. Pity the weather was lousy. It was all cloudy and stuff. Just hope the pics turn out well.

Walked over to the merlion.

Started to rain. Took out the umbrellas and proceeded on to fullerton hotel, thinking we could shoot some more pics at the tunnel/underpass near the old esplanade.

Then yours truly here tripped.

SNAP...went the front part of my sandal.

And it happened in front of a few people.

Embarassing but not so bad. At least i know that i wont be seeing those people ever again. haha.

So i had a throbbing foot and a broken sandal. Canceled our plans and hailed a cab. Apparently the cab driver saw me walking barefoot in the rain and had nice little chuckle.

Drove over to bugis junction.

Walked barefoot on ONE foot with the good sandal still on.

Looked around for a pair of sandals/slippers i could get cheap. Got a pair for $10

Good enough.

Paid then left.

Was so bloody tired. Reached home around 6.30pm.

Not to mention i was going back to kl that same night.

And yes. I just arrived at my dorm room at 6am.

And i have a class at EIGHT in the morning. So i cant go back to sleep. If not i will definitely miss the class. And i'd hate to get on Br. Mazlan's bad side.

Going to shower now.

Hope this stiff neck goes away soon.

Driving me nuts...

I think this is the first time in 2 yrs that i havent been able to do it.

Do what you say?

GO BACK ON A THURSDAY!!!

It just kills me that im not able to go back on thursdays.

Why the fuss?

Well, cmg back to singapore on a thursday means that i'll have a long weekend ahead of me. I mean who wouldn't want to have a long weekend? Everyone looks forward to it.

This semester im already a 3rd yr student -alhamdullillah- so i guess its time to make some sacrifices before graduation. I mean how long can i possibly avoid not having a friday class? Considering the fact that i come from a small department, the possibility of me gttg a friday class is high. I say sooner rather than later.

So i'll leave after my 8am class. At least I know im going back with good company. There's always a trade off.

On another note,

I miss my little Dika & Comel.

By the way, just want to say a little

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to some people

My dearest Zak! Muacks! Love ya loads babe!

My up-stairs neighbour, classmate/coursemate, Nora!

Congrats on FINALLY turning 21!

*I. Feel. Ancient.*

Off to bed then, well not technically. After watching Moonson Wedding that is.

Home sweet home tomorrow.

Fitfully...

Yes, been getting dreamless sleep which was really good. Refreshed and recharged myself over the weekend back at my kampung.

Helped with the gardening and the raking and the wheelbarrowing. I push a mean wheelbarrow. Haha.

Except for the fact that the water supply was cut off, everything else was gd. I mean who can resist grandma's good old cooking.

Nasi minyak was waiting for me when i arrived late friday afternoon.

Then on monday (which was a public holiday in Selangor) i spent it at my great-grandpa's place and had the best kampung meal in my life.

Just plain rice with tempoyak, petai and fried fish made my day.

The taste still lingers in my mouth. Yummy.

So it was back to school yesterday.

I thought it was a monday. so i brought along my psycholinguistics txt. So very der smangat. And so very der selenger. Buat berat bag je.

Classes started at 10am and went all the way till 5pm with only an hour for lunch and zuhur. Then at 5pm had to rush for a meeting. Tu lah...nak sangat masuk EXCO kan...haaaa rasaaakaaaannn.

Den off to dinner and watched IPAC (islamic performing arts something)...all the way to 11pm.

Was so knackered.

And today is another long day.

Hope all goes well.

42 more days to the 24th of Jan

Wish me luck!

My million little pieces...

"I don't want to be alone. I have never wanted to be alone. I fucking hate it. I hate that I have no one to talk to, I hate that I have no one to call, I hate that I have no one to hold my hand, hug me, tell me everything is going to be alright. I hate that I have no one to share my hopes and my dreams with, I hate that I no longer have any hopes or dreams, I hate that I have no one to hold on, tht I can find them again. I hate that when i scream, and I scream bloody murder, that I am screaming into emptiness. I hate that there is no one to hear my scream and that there is no one to help me learn how to stop screaming."
James Frey, a million little pieces, pg 79

Save for the part that i striked out, Frey just took the words right out of my mouth.
The most graphic novel/account I've ever read. And i just HAD to read all the gross bits while i was eating.
I have never been as emotionally involved with a book. Period.
And i'm not even done with it yet.
Thanks Kho for lending it to me even when you're not done with it.
My msg to all of you:

Go. Grab. The. Book.
Must.Read.

Finally...

UIA has got wireless connection! And im proud to be typing this from the comforts of my hostel room. Okaylah...i noe other people out there have got wireless connections long before i have. But to have it in the middle of an "ulu" place is something to take note of okay.

Im happy to report that the connection is quite fast and efficient as well. Paying as low as RM30 for a month's worth of internet usage. Not bad huh. I am so freakin' happy!!!

*ni macam kalau tak nak balik singapore pun tak kesah*

________________________________________________

The first day of class went off well. Even though my class started at 8 in the morning. Yes. You heard me right. 8am. And i didnt have too much trouble waking up in the morning either. Thanks to the temp job i was holding for the past 2 weeks, it actually helped me train to wake up early. Actually about half an hour earlier than the preset time on my alarm. Your truly here woke up startled, thinking that my alarm didnt go off. And when i checked the clock, it was only 5.25am. So i just crawled back to bed. Got a little more shut eye and then woke up at 6plus to shower and do my morning prayers.

Class was scheduled to start at 8am and i was actually early! I was so damned proud of myself! By 7.25am i was all ready to head out the door. And not to mention i was the very FERST person to reach class. How about that hehehe....i guess im almost back to my normal self once again. I hope i can keep this up...

Even then, the day did have a little hiccup like i mentioned earlier. My class scheduled at eight didnt have the lecturer arriving on time. Which is very strange considering that the lecturer is a very punctual person. So Firah and I decided to go and see him in his office to ask him whether there was going to be class on wednesday or not. First time round he wasn't in his room. So later on i tried again. This time he was already on campus, in the writing lab.

Apparently he did go to class.

Only at a different time. Hehehehe...He was unfortunately greeted by an empty classroom cos his schedule was slated for a 9am class. Luckily i met him and told him of the slight change in his schedule. Hehehe...a misfortune for him but a fortunate event for us.

_____________________________________________________

Arrived in Gombak at 4.30pm yesterday after a 7hour journey frm singapore. Yeah...its the longest bus -ride ever that i've had to take to get to campus. The pit stops and the congestions just made things worse. So yeah...i was exausted by the time i got to my room, hauling me with my luggage and stuff. The room is almost back in order and yours truly is simply knackered today after a hectic ferst day. Alhamdullillah, classes are in order and soon will be gttg guests from Mad. Aljunied and NUS Muslim Society.

Now that should keep me busy for the next couple of days.

p/s: if u can't get a hold of me on my msian mobile this weekend means that im away at my kampung.

thats all.
