YAHOOOOOO!

Typing this entry on my brand new laptop!

Although i really hate (ok maybe not really hate but dislike) using V*ista but got no choice.

Aaaannnnnyyywaaayyyy

I'm now using N*E*C.

Well according to my brother, its the best brand in Japan.

But before i could come to a decision (in the veryyy, veryyy, packed COMEX), I had to look and fish around for the best bargains.

It was a toss-up between A*sus and T*oshiba and N*EC

Almost got the A*sus but it was HEAVYYYY!

And i'm not talking abt the E*E pc. Because it was too basic for my liking and had no cd/dvd drive.

What i was really looking for was portability.

Cos i really enjoyed bringing my light F*ujitsu.

Something that i really appreciate is the weight of a laptop.

Having to lug my super-heavy laptop in university was NOT fun at all!

I remember being the only one with a laptop in the early days and lugging it from Mahallah S*umayyah to H*alimah to watch DVD with the gerls.

Thankfully my very faithful and reliable F*ujitsu stepped in.

And after working really hard, and giving up a few times, it was time for a change.

And so far im loving it.

If only i knew how to change the date on this laptop.

"DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?

During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, 'How do I know if I married the right person?' I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, 'It depends. Is that your husband?' In all seriousness, she answered 'How do you know?' Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind. Here's the answer.

EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse / partner . You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies (unconventional behavior/habit).

Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called 'falling' in love... Because it's happening TO YOU . People in love sometimes say, 'I was swept of my feet.' Think about the imagery of that __expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU .

Falling in love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria (excitement) of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship . Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies , instead of being cute, drive you nuts.
The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, 'Did I marry the right person?' And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when marriages breakdown . People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfillment.

Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it. I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could.
And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this):

THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT'S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't 'find' LASTING love. You have to 'make' it day in and day out. That's why we have the __expression 'the labor of love.' Because it takes time, effort, and energy . And most importantly, it takes WISDOM . You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.
Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage.

Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships.Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable... you can 'make' love .
Love in marriage is indeed a 'decision'... Not just a feeling.

Just to share. Make it work!

The Deed is Done.

Before i leave for KL tomorrow, i have to clear all outstanding work.

Inclusive of my OBSERVATION!

It happened today at 10.40am.

I was a nervous wreck.

*i shldn't have felt that nervous. i was as prepared as i could be, but yet the nerves got to me*

i had lesson all planned out

For analogy i used, D*ianah S*uhaimi's article (10.8.08) on "B*eing the L*east F*avourite C*hild"

Which i thought was pretty apt for classroom work as well as complying to their request of wanting a "controversial" topic haha.

If you have no idea what i'm talking about. Read the article here.

I also had interesting examples of irony and simple enough for them to understand the topic.

All in all, i thought it turned out pretty well despite the classroom hiccups that were posed earlier on in the period.

So what were the comments that were given to me?

NONE YETTT!!!

I have to wait till tomorrow before i can get my review.

This is what has been bugging me the most since i got my contract teaching posting.

The observation bit.

Cos its a BIG component in determining whether i enter N*IE next yr or not.

Hopefully i get a gd work review.

Right now im down with the sniffles.

Must get better before heading down to KL tomorrow!

I'm gg home immediately today. No hanging around in sch.

And its POUUUURRRIIIIINNNNNNGGGG cats and dogs in yishun by the way!

Nothing like a good nap in the cold weather.

Love, love, love...

I loveee being at home, just mooching around the house and walking aimlessly (and sleepily)...

I love that my mom wasn't at home the whole of yesterday (thus spared from her nagging, hurhur, well she did enjoy her date with her gerlfrens ahakz)

And i love that YOU called! :D

I treasure the smallest things that you do for me.

Thank YOU love.

So before all of you upchuck your breakfast/lunch/dinner, i shall not bore you with such mind-numbing details.

So, how was the whole week in school?

Basically i had a hard time with ONE class.

I have a high rate of absenteeism and i think i know why.

But before i go on, i want to say SORRY especially to ALL my JC teachers for giving you all grief

Karma has bitten me right on my ASS.

Why?

Well, a couple of weeks ago, one of my close gfs (who also happens to be a (sec. sch.) teacher) mentioned about how she came about "inheriting" her students.

*She comes from a school with plenty of disciplinary problems*

She said that this is all karma for being mean to one of her teachers when she was in sec. sch.

So it got me thinking: I once skipped a lot of school when i was in jc.

And ta-daaahhhh, thus being handed a class with lots of students being absent from my class.

Imagine a class of 18 (for Project Work) and only SEVEN turning up???

And another class of 24 (for GP) and only 8-10 pple turning up???

I related this story to my students.

I told them to change their habits before karma smacks THEM in the ass.

I think some of them got the idea.

Next week, I'll be having my OBSERVATION.

By a senior teacher.

Wish me luck pple!

Guilty...

Yes, sometimes I feel really guilty.

I have evil thoughts running through my mind.

I shouldn't even be thinking about it.

Anyway...

I've been sooo tired and soooo lazy to wake up for school!

I think it must be the fact that i had an extremely long weekend and spent EVERY single day out.

From National Day, the Day After National Day (a.k.a Adam's Birthday) to Monday (school holiday)

I went to watch the National Day Parade at the Esplanade.

I was feeling lousy and once i arrived at City Hall and saw the GINORMOUS crowd i felt like going back on the train and going back to Yishun.

And then i had to "chope" places for the gerls and there were sooo many pple that were clamouring for our spot.

And then it started to RAIN!!!

Thankfully it wasnt a heavy downpour.

But things started to look up once the rest of the gerls arrived to join me and Kha.

And things got even better when we were united with Shasha, Darwis and Seri.

And it got even merrier when Dewi joined us! Hahaha...

Listening to her re-tell her "toilet" story to Aisyah Spec and Kha was priceless.

We were in TEARSSSS laughing!

Coupled with the "helmet terbalik" story courtesy of Suli made the night a joyous occasion.

We went to Kampung Glam Cafe for supper and it was fully paid for by Maman, Kha's brother who joined us later that night.

Alhamdulillah!

Better yet, I got a lift from Kha and her bro by CAB!! Yeayyyyy! :D

So the day that started out like CRAP ended up to be a really great time.

Thanks girls for making it a memorable night.

Our first National Day together back Home *where i beloooonnnng....*

Love you lots!

Pics coming up soon!

Hot POTATO

I have an inkling of a feeling that im coming down with something.

My throat has been quite scratchy.

Its come to a point where its getting difficult to swallow.

And i have a gut feeling that its tonsilitis.

So i googled tonsilitis and i came up with this:

Symptoms of tonsillitis include a severe sore throat (which may be experienced as referred pain to the ears), painful/difficult swallowing, headache, fever and chills, and change in voice causing a "hot potato" voice. Tonsillitis is characterized by signs of red, swollen tonsils which may have a purulent exudative coating of white patches (i.e. pus). There may be enlarged and tender neck cervical lymph nodes.

What in the world is Hot Potato voice????
Takkan lah serak² basah kan? Serak² basah bukan macam hot potato per? Hot potato kan kering? Hahahaaa

Haha...i wanna LoL but it hurts.

Guess i'll just have to laugh on the inside...teeheehee

I'm exhausted.

Despite the fact that i slept at 10.30pm last night!!!

Bed time is getting earlier and earlier.

I'll see how bad it is tomorrow.

If it gets any worse then i'll take MC on friday for a SUPERRR LOONNNNG weekend!

*Monday is a school holiday! Yeay!!!*

Now what can i do to soothe my throat?
